Location: Simcoe Country Ontario Company Overview: This 160-bed Home opened in xxxx and embodies the latest and most progressive thinking in terms of long-term care design. Position Overview: The Director of Resident Care is responsible for ensuring the development of an organized program of nursing services to meet residents? nursing and personal care needs consistent with the professional Standard of Practice of the College of Nurses of Ontario. Responsibilities: (but not limited to): Develop annual goals and objectives consistent with Mission and Strategic Direction of Corporate LTC Caregiving Centre.Liaise with corporate head office and facilities to assess needs and issues, offer input into planning solution, act as consultant in implementation, and assist in evaluating effectiveness.Responsible for the management of the nursing department to provide quality resident care.Ensures and promotes the provision of resident-centered services to meet the needs of residents.Responsible to manage the nursing department?s financial resources ? staffing and supplies.Provides effective human resource staffing and education.Provides for effective use of material resources ? inventory control.Maintains an appropriate recording system ? policies and procedures, health care plans etc.Responsible for quality management and the health and safety of the staff and residents.
